About the Product

PRE ORDER NOW! Stock is due at our warehouse in late June!

The Styria MINI is a SlimeVR-compatible full-body tracker built on the hard work by the SlimeVR contributors on nRF based Slimes. Powered by the nRF52840 MCU, it's smaller, lighter, and lasts dramatically longer than traditional ESP-based trackers — so you can play for longer and spend less time charging.

Unlike WiFi-based trackers, the MINI connects through a dedicated USB receiver. There's no per-tracker WiFi setup. Just plug in the receiver and play. For the best experience, stay within range of the receiver and keep line-of-sight clear of heavy obstruction.

What's included in the Core Set?

The Core sets comes with everything you need to get started in Full Body. It includes:

  • 6 trackers
  • Chest Harness
  • Charging dock
  • Carry Case
  • Styria receiver

Why we carry the Styria MINI

We came across the Styria MINI and thought it was a genuinely great tracker that deserved a wider audience. It brings a different mix of features to the table, and until now it's been hard to get hold of outside of China. We wanted to give it a proper chance in the Western market, with local availability, support, and shipping you can count on.

Why the MINI?

  • Under 10g per tracker and just 34×29×9 mm, so you barely notice they're on.
  • Up to ~40 hours on a single charge from a 125mAh battery.
  • Fully charge in about 1.5 hours. The included dock charges up to 10 trackers at once.
  • No WiFi headaches! Pair the included USB receiver once and you're tracking.
  • Strong drift performance with 15–45 minute reset interval after calibration (firmware 260301 or newer).
  • Comes with Magnetometer (disabled by default) for more accurate tracking*
  • SlimeVR Compatible Trackers that work with your existing Slimes, or Ibis Trackers
  • Protective carry case included with every set.

How the Styria MINI compares to our Ibis trackers

The MINI and the Ibis share the same core platform, so tracking performance is broadly similar — but they take a few different design approaches, and which one suits you comes down to preference:

  • Smaller footprint: Styria Trackers are slightly smaller, but are thicker than IBIS Trackers.
  • Hook-and-loop attachment: Every Styria tracker attaches directly to your straps with hook-and-loop, rather than the Ibis tray system.
  • Carry case: Styria's ship with a protective carry case.
  • Pogo-pin charging: Styria's charge via pogo pins instead of the Ibis's USB-C. This makes for clean, fuss-free dock charging, though it's a little harder to debug or update outside the dock. (Note that OTA Charging is coming soon to both variants)
  • Smart charging dock: The dock has a single USB data connection, so it's also used to connect and update the trackers. It includes an on/off button that powers all docked trackers on or off at once.
  • More sturdy receiver: The Styria receiver has proven more reliable than the HolyIOT receiver used with the Ibis line (although we are switching Ibis Trackers to ship with the Styria tracker and other options soon!).

Everything else is largely the same, so you're choosing based on form factor and charging style rather than a step up or down in capability.

Note that these use the same IMU's and battery size, so playtime will be almost identical.

IBIS trackers are full body trackers for VR that let your avatar move like you do.

No. They use a wireless USB receiver that plugs into your PC. No WIFI for tracking required.

Not using Wi-Fi means simpler setup (they come pre paired), better battery life (up to 70 hours, ~50hrs average), and fewer connection problems. Note that the range is generally limited to within your playspace, not your wifi strength.

Yes, as long as SlimeVR supports them. You can use Officials with IBIS trackers; do note, however, that the limitations of each type will still be present. Wifi may have more range, less battery life, etc.

Yes. However, unless there's an issue with your current firmware version, we recommend you don't update "just because". Firmware is still under development and may soft-brick your trackers. Rolling back to a previous version is possible, but there updates almost daily. We usually use the latest "Stable" available.

Our trackers come pre-paired. Simply plug in the receiver and turn them on. For pairing additional trackers, see here: https://docs.slimevr.dev/smol-slimes/firmware/smol-pairing-and-calibration.html#adding-more-trackers

Yes, as long as SlimeVR Server is supported on your setup. If you run on standalone, you can still use SlimeVR server on a laptop, desktop or android phone. Note that you do not need to have a PCVR capable computer to run SlimeVR server. Any basic laptop will work.

Any that use Vive trackers. VRChat, Blade & Sorcery, etc.

It's possible to get over 70 hours of battery life, but realistically if you constantly move, it's closer to 30-50 hours.

Any tracker that has more movement (ie chest, due to breathing will move it more) will drain faster. We regularly see more than 50 hours use from general playtime.

Yes. They’re great for social VR and full-body movement. including dancing. Note that your experience will vary depending on body shape, mounting calibration, and your body proportion setup.

Trackers tend to rotate over time for reasons. We recommend you read the glossary in the SlimeVR docs for further clarity. https://docs.slimevr.dev/glossary.html

It depends. If you're dancing and moving a LOT, then you may find you have to yaw reset every 10 minutes. However, if you're walking, and socializing, it could be over an hour. It just depends on your movement.

They track how your body parts rotate and move, not your exact location in the room.

Each tracker measures the rotation of a bone, and when the data from all the bones is combined, it creates a simulation of your physical poses and movements. For this reason, you should aim to use enough trackers to meet your specific Full Body Tracking needs.

Taken from https://docs.slimevr.dev/slimevr101.html#how-many-trackers-do-you-need

SlimeVR works with just 5 trackers, but the recommended number is 6. More trackers make movement look better and more accurate.

  • Trackers
  • Receiver + Extension Cable
  • 10 port charging dock + USB C Cable
  • Mounting Velcro straps
  • Quick Release Hooks
  • Chest Harness + tracker mount
  • Mounting location stickers

They work with SlimeVR, SteamVR, and games like VRChat. They also work for Quest headsets (Standalone VRChat) with the Android SlimeVR app.

They connect wirelessly to a your receiver (dongle) that you plug into your PC. To use the Android app, you'll need a USB A female to USB-C adapter. (not included)
