Privacy Policy for VYRO VR

Effective date: June 1, 2026

VYRO VR ("the app", "we", "us") is an application for Meta Quest, Pico, and Android devices that relays motion-tracker data from a USB receiver dongle to a SlimeVR server on your local network. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data.

Summary

VYRO VR does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information. It has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. All data the app handles stays on your own devices and local network.

What the app does

When you connect a compatible USB tracker receiver to your headset or device, VYRO VR reads motion data (orientation, acceleration, battery level, and signal strength) from that receiver and forwards it over your local Wi-Fi network, using the SlimeVR protocol (UDP), to a SlimeVR server that you run on your own computer.

This motion data:

  • is generated by your own tracker hardware;
  • is transmitted only to a SlimeVR server on your local network, at an address you provide or that the app discovers on your local network;
  • is not sent to us, to Meta, or to any other third party; and
  • is not stored by the app after it is forwarded — it is relayed in real time and not retained.

Information stored on your device

The app stores one setting locally on your device: the network address (IP address) of your SlimeVR server, so you do not have to re-enter it. This is kept only in the app's private storage on your device, is never transmitted to us, and is removed when you uninstall the app.

The app also keeps a short, on-screen activity log (and writes the same messages to the device's local system log) to help with troubleshooting. This log stays on your device and is not sent anywhere.

Permissions the app requests, and why

  • USB host access — to read motion data from the tracker receiver dongle you plug in.
  • Internet / network access — to send tracker data over UDP to your SlimeVR server on your local network.
  • Wi-Fi state — to determine your device's local network address so it can find and connect to the SlimeVR server.
  • Foreground service — to keep relaying tracker data reliably while the app is running.
  • Notifications — to show an ongoing notification while the relay service is active.

The app does not request access to your location, contacts, microphone, camera, files, or any other personal data, and does not use any of these.

Data sharing

We do not share any data with third parties because we do not collect any. The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

Children's privacy

The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at the same URL with a revised effective date.
